The second annual Wasted Food Stops With Us event turned into a week-long celebration of food waste diversion outreach and education activities.

A panel discussion of public/private partnerships that reduce food waste. Featuring Food For the Soul, Hamilton County R3Source, Food Shift, and Alameda County StopWaste hosted by NRDC and US EPA.

Miami Township Food Distribution

In partnership with Hamilton County WeThrive!, Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library, Miami Township, and Food for the Soul, 15,000 pounds of food and personal care items from the Freestore Foodbank, Master Provisions, and Last Mile Food Rescue were distributed on the west side of Hamilton County! Food For the Soul provided upcycling demonstrations and a hot lunch to those who attended.

In partnership with Findlay Market, Chef Anthony Jordan from Invito Personal Chef, Cincinnati Public Schools Culinary Arts Students, Our Daily Bread, and Hamilton County R3Source hosted upcycling demonstrations at Elaine's Kitchen.

Compost Seminar

The first of many in 2023, Elise Roalef hosted a compost seminar at the Civic Garden Center teaching attendees how to use their inedible food scraps to make a nutrient rich soil amendment in their own backyard!!
